FA Cup Final played at Wembley,Manchester Utd. vs Brighton and Hove Albion: As complete outsiders Brighton took th field without Steve Foster their suspended captain but after 14 minutes of endeavour they took the lead with a goal from Gordon Smith. Frank Stapleton equalised early in the second half and Ray Wilkins curled in a superb goal on 73 minutes, but three minutes from time Gary Stevens scored a dramatic equaliser and at the death Gordon Smith squandered a great chance to win the final. The replay was a more one sided affair and United won 4-0.
Condition:
