Description:
League Cup Final played at Wembley, Manchester City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers. There was some unrest at City before the final as it was rumoured some of the experienced professionals were irritated with their treatment by the Manager, Ron Saunders. Summerbee, Bell, Lee, Law and Marsh made up Citys forward line but incredibly Wolves still won the game. Despite all that talent on show the Wolves keeper Pierce had the game of his life and pulled off a string of fine saves. Kenny Hibbitt had put Wolves 1-0 up in the first half but on the hour Colin Bell eventually beat Pierce to put City level. With just five minutes to go an innocuous centre struck Rodney Marsh on the heel and it rolled invitingly into the path of John Richards and he made no mistake in lashing it high into the roof of the City net and Wolves had won the cup.
Condition:
The programme has a little minor creasing but is otherwise very clean and also includes a copy of the League Review.
