FA Cup Final played at Wembley - Everton vs Manchester Utd: Everton returned to Wembley to defend their title as cup holders. After ninety minutes the match was all square at 0-0 and so extra time was needed to settle it. Norman Whiteside scored the only goal for Manchester Utd. and the dream of back to back victories for Everton was quashed. The Everton line up was Southall, Stevens, Van den Hauwe, Ratcliffe, Mountfield, Reid, Steven, Gray, Sharp, Bracewell and Sheedy, and for Manchester Utd. were Bailey, Gidman, Albiston, Whiteside, McGrath, Moran, Robson, Strachan, Hughes, Stapleton and Olsen.
