FA Cup Final played at Wembley - Everton vs Liverpool: Everton were back at Wembley for the third year in a row and this time they faced their great Merseyside rivals, Liverpool. Everton held the advantage at half time and went in 1-0 up thanks to a goal from Gary Lineker. The second half though belonged to Liverpool and two goals from Ian Rush and one from Craig Johnston sent the red half of Liverpool home happy. The team line ups were for Everton, Mimms, Stevens, Van den Hauwe, Ratcliffe, Mountfield, Reid, Steven, Lineker, Sharp, Bracewell and Sheedy, and for Liverpool were Grobbelaar, Nicol, Beglin, Lawrenson, Whelan, Hansen, Dalglish, Johnston, Rush, Molby and McMahon.
