Like lots of people I’ve been looking for another interest (apart from gardening of course!) and I’ve found it by utilising my hobby to set up this sporting website. My first love is football, with cricket as a very close second but I’m interested in a whole variety of sports.
To start at the beginning I’ve been a supporter of Manchester City (not an easy path but one I can’t abandon!) since my Grandad took me to Maine Road in 1955 when I was just 7 and the rest as they say is history. I’ve travelled the M5/M6 from Devon to Maine Road many times over the last 35 years and am still an ardent fan.
So back to the present. This is a family-born website, I couldn’t have got as far as I have without the support of my family and friends in more ways than I could possibly mention here. Firstly I’ve been blessed with two lovely girls, Carly and Katy, and they both support Man City, what more could a man want! Then there’s a son-in-law, Lee, who supports Liverpool and our youngest daughter's partner, Barry, who’s an Aston Villa fan – well, at least they both like football! And lastly my wife, Di, whose constant support and calmness through some less-than-calm moments, have played a major part in making this all possible.
So, I eventually gathered a variety of programmes together and started selling on Ebay, and what a revelation it was. I’ve met, in the computer sense, so many like-minded people, it’s been great – Rick are you out there (Ebay - whuru2006)! The natural progression seemed obvious – set up my own website. Eddie and Tim of E-Strategy designed and formulated the site and what a wonderful job they have done - Eddie and Tim you are stars! Barry, thanks too for being our banner specialist. So last Summer around a family barbecue the question of a name came up. We went through quite a few, and then suddenly “Over The Blue Moon” - that son-in-law, he knows when to strike! Thank you Lee. We had to drop the Blue, couldn’t be too provocative, and so OTM was born, with just a subtle connection to Manchester City, enough to keep me happy!
Never fear though, I’m able to embrace all Football Clubs – which brings me back to my Grandad who was a season ticket holder at both Man City and Man Utd in the 50’s (but on Derby Day was always a Blue).
Hope I’ve not been too sentimental, but given you the enthusiasm to support me, write to me, encourage me – whatever suits you. Rest assured we will offer a service which is second to none.
